Jack’s song

(sadly)
They call me Jack the little Giant because I am quite small
They call me Jack the little Giant because I’m only just this tall 
My mummy is a giant and she is bigger than me
My daddy is a giant and he is as big as a tree! 
(talks excitedly)
Or a house! Or a very big crane! Or a giant elephant! He is!
(sadly)
But I’m only little …
(walks across stage, head down)

(brightens up)
That reminds me. I know a joke about elephants. Are you ready?
Do you know how an elephant asks for a biscuit?
(Hold arm out in front of face.) 
Can I have a biscuit please!

(more lively)
Sometimes I get in trouble but I’m not really bad
Sometimes my mummy tells me 
(through teeth) 
that I just drive her mad 
Then I smile my best smile, the one that never fails
And she cuddles me and reads me one of my adventure tales
(holds up book)

(jaunty)
Did you know Giants are magic? Yes we are! It’s true!
Giants can speak to animals just like I can speak to you
Giants can lift up heavy things, we are very strong 
(put arms like body builder)
And Giants are super singers, well, you’ve heard me sing this song!

(animated)
